Tanzanite

Tanzanite is the blue variety of Zoisite, discovered in Tanzania. It is found almost exclusively in Tanzania, and in very limited quantities. The chief deposit is apparently nearly exhausted. In good quality the color is ultramarine to sapphire blue. "Tiffany's" first popularized Tanzanite in the early 70's and it has now become a very popular stone of choice.
