TourmalineTourmaline shows the greatest color range of any gemstone, almost any shade seemingly possible, although pink and green stones are the most popular. Some crystals are multi-coloured, with differing colours occurring at either end of the crystal, forming a core and rim, as in "watermelon tourmaline". Tourmaline has one of the widest color ranges of any gemstone in the mineral world. The most common color is bluish green, but tourmaline may be, violet, pink, various shades of green, light blue, dark blue and occasionally even colorless. Some of the best deposits of tourmaline are in Brazil, others in Sri Lanka, the Soviet Union, Burma, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Namibia. California, Maine and Connecticut in the United States.
